The truck driver who struck and killed NYSDOT worker Dennis “Matt” Howe in March has been arraigned.
Lawrence E. Faucett was arraigned in Tioga County Court on one count of Criminally Negligent Homicide and pled not guilty. Faucett was released on his own recognizance and appeared voluntarily with counsel.
The accident occurred on the morning of March 13 while Faucett was driving on Route 17/86 and he struck a DOT truck Howe was sitting in.
Howe died as a result of the injuries sustained during the crash.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo had ordered flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of Howe prior to his burial.
