Two men were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop on Columbia St. in the City of Corning on Nov. 26, 2018, at approximately 11:49 p.m.
During the stop by the Corning Police Department, the front-seat passenger fled on foot, but was later found hiding under a vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle, Micah J. Rogers, 40, of Painted Post, N.Y. was charged with Unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and Criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, Class A misdemeanor.
The passenger who fled on foot, James A. Thaddies, 41, of Elmira, N.Y. was charged with Criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree, Class B felony, and Tampering with physical evidence, Class E felony.
Police allege that Thaddies possessed a large quantity of methamphetamine and attempted to destroy it while fleeing from police on foot.
Thaddies was also found to be wanted on arrest warrants in the State of Pennsylvania and by the Livingston County N.Y. Sheriff’s Office. Both warrants are for drug-related charges and failing to appear in Court.
A quantity of cash was also found on the vehicle.
Both subjects were held overnight in the City’s lockup and arraigned in Corning City Court on Nov. 27, 2018.
