Two people from Tuscarora were arrested after they failed to provide adequate shelter for their dog.
Amanda Wilbur, 27 and Troy Rupar, 28, were both arrested on Feb. 28 after Steuben County Sheriffs received a report that their dog was not being properly taken care of.
Deputies said when they went to the house on Stewart Road, they saw a puppy left outside without proper shelter. Wilbur and Rupar were both issued appearance tickets.
Deputies want to remind the public that during the winter months, all dogs outside must be provided with water, wind resistant, properly insulated enclosed shelter. Failure to do so may result in criminal action to prevent animal abuse. If you are aware of an incident of animal cruelty that needs to be investigated in Steuben, call (607) 622-3911.
