Two people arrested in Athens Township, black tar heroin discovered

Pennsylvania State Police arrested Wesley Blake Welborn and Sarah Maryott on Wed. May 29 at an Athens Township Walmart as part of a narcotics investigation.

Police uncovered suspected black tar heroin, syringes, and drug paraphernalia after conducting a search warrant inside their vehicle.

Welborn was taken into custody for previous narcotics investigations involving the sale of heroin and Maryott was taken into custody for a domestic relations bench warrant.

Maryott was also found in possession of drug paraphernalia and stolen property from the Walmart hidden in her clothing.

Additional criminal charges for narcotics violations and retail theft will be filed at a later date.

Welborn was arraigned after failing to post $125,000 bail and is now in the Bradford County Jail.
