Two Steuben County men are behind bars for stealing firearms from homes in the Town of Campbell and the Village of Savona.
24-year-old Todd L. Buck Jr. is charged with one count of grand larceny for stealing a long gun and then selling it to a Chemung County business.
He was arraigned and sent to the Steuben County jail on $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 property bond.
On a separate incident, 28-year-old Joseph W. Kish III is charged with one count of burglary and two counts of grand larceny for entering a home in the Village of Savona where he stole two long guns and also sold them to a Chemung County business.
Kish was arraigned and sent to the Steuben County jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 property bond.
The Sheriff’s Office currently has two other similar incidents under investigation. Over the past week, nine stolen long guns have been recovered that were reported missing in connection to this investigation.
Several of the long guns reported missing were stolen several weeks prior to the owners noticing the guns missing from their home.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone in the Campbell and Savona area that are missing long guns to contact Captain Eric Tyner at (607)622-3911 to file a report and see if any of the recovered long guns belong to them.
