Brandon Todd, 24, and Amanda Yates, 30, of Prattsburgh were arrested Sunday for allegedly coercing an elderly woman into letting them live in her residence and signing over $7,500 to them.

New York State Police in Bath received a report from Steuben County Adult Protective Services regarding possible fraud involving an elderly woman.  Investigators alleged that on or about the evening of July 9, Todd threatened an elderly female, telling her that he would report her to the F.B.I.  if she did not sign a document he had hand-written. This document was designed to steal $7,500 from the elderly woman and allow both him and Amanda Yates to live in the elderly woman’s residence, through December of 2018.

Brandon Todd and Amanda Yates were arraigned in the Town of Prattsburgh Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail; Todd on $25,000 cash bail / $50,000 bond and Yates on $1,000 cash bail / $2,000 bond. They were directed to reappear in the Town of Prattsburgh Court at a later date.
