Cars drive by it daily, and many of those honk their horns, or worse, in response to a 12′ x 25′ banner featuring the GOP presidential candidate front-runner hanging off a building.
Easily visible from the Clemens Center Parkway near E. Fifth St. in the City of Elmira, artist Julian Raven’s art studio is now adorned by his creation of Donald Trump campaign painting-turned-banner, all just part of his ongoing effort to help Trump become the next president with Raven’s own “Unafraid and Unashamed” campaign.
“I just think, without a doubt, that Donald Trump is a consummate executive who has the experience necessary to sit in the seat of executive office of the White House,” said Raven, who was born and raised in Europe but now lives in Elmira.
This is not the first time Raven has campaigned for a Republican candidate for public office. Just last year, Raven helped campaign for Dan Mandell, who is now serving as mayor for the City of Elmira.
Mandell was so impressed with Raven’s efforts, he wrote to Donald Trump to let him know how dedicated and hard-working Raven is.
“Julian (Raven) saw me using (the theme) ‘make Elmira great again,’ the same theme that Donald was using to ‘make America great again,’ so I definitely composed a letter letting the Trump campaign letting them know that (Julian) was fully behind me and helped me with my campaign, and will be an asset for their campaign,” Mandell said.
In the weeks leading up to the presidential primary in New York, Raven is holding pro-Trump rallies at the studio. All the while, he’s trying to change the minds of those who stop by the studio who may not be planning to vote for the controversial Trump.
“I see past the noise and the rhetoric and all that stuff and I see a guy, and I say ‘he is someone who will do what he wants to do and what he says he’s going to do, and he’s determined,'” Raven said.
