UPDATE: Boil water advisory has been lifted for Watkins Glen and Reading

The boil water advisory has been lifted as of 02/13/19 at 3:15 pm.  The water is safe for consumption, according to Village Clerk Lonnie Childs.

UPDATE (8:45 a.m.)

The Watkins Glen Village Clerk issued the following update Friday morning:

The water main break on Steuben Street has been fixed.  If you live on the side hill in the Village of Watkins Glen or in the Town of Reading and were without water due to the water main break on February 7th, 2019 then, you will need to boil your water until further notice from the Village.  The Department of Health and the Village of Watkins Glen have lifted the boil water for the flats as well as the water conservation notice for the Town of Dix.  Bottled water will be available at the Fire Department after 9:00 am, February 8, 2019 if needed.

UPDATE (9:00 p.m.) 

The Watkins Glen Village Clerk issued the following update Thursday night. 

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE:   The Boil Water Notice IS still in effect for the Village of Watkins Glen and Town of Reading.  We are also asking that the Town of Dix please conserve water at this time.  We will update you with information as it becomes available.  Thank you!

UPDATE (5:38 p.m.): Residents in the town of Dix are asked to conserve water.

UPDATE (4:52 p.m.): The boil advisory is still in effect for those on the west-side of Watkins Glen and residents in the town of Reading.

UPDATE (3:05 p.m.): Schuyler County Attorney Steven Getman says the boil advisory has been reinstated in Watkins Glen.

UPDATE (1:36 p.m.): The boil advisory has been lifted in Watkins Glen, but repairs are still on-going to fix the water main.

Residents in Watkins Glen are under a boil advisory after a water main break on North Glen Ave., according to Schuyler County Attorney Steven Getman.

All residents west of State Route 14 will experience low pressure while repairs are being made.
