An 83-year-old man is recovering from a vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon on State Route 14A in Benton near the Yates-Ontario County line, but his service dog missing, according to the Finger Lakes Daily News.
The driver was traveling southbound when his car left the west side of the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned before coming to rest upright. He was taken to Geneva General Hospital for treatment of neck pain.
A service dog named Bailey was riding in the car at the time of the accident and is now missing. She was last seen wearing a leash and a tan dog jacket/cape with the red service dog vest.
Bailey is described as very shy, so she might not respond to someone if they approach her.
