Verizon wireless services have finally been restored after a nearly 16 hour outage.
Reports came in around 3:40 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, that all Verizon landline, internet, and cell phone services were not working properly throughout Chemung County.
The effects of Verizon being down left people without ways of communication throughout most of the Southern Tier.
Verizon did eventually restore its services around 9:30 a.m. today, Sunday, March 31.
There are no reports confirming or denying the official cause of the company losing its services. This is still a developing story and 18 News will keep you posted as more information becomes available to us.
