(UPDATE): The advisory has been lifted as of noon on Thursday.

Residents in the Village of Watkins Glen need to be cautious with water coming out of their faucets tonight.
A water main broke Monday night on Madison Avenue, forcing the village to shut off its purification plant.
The village’s superintendent of public utilities advises people to boil their water before using it to cook and drink.
“The water is not fit for drinking and we will let them know when the advisory is lifted,” Lee Kent, the public utilities superintendent for the village, said. “Probably will be Thursday.”
Meanwhile for some local businesses such as the Wild Flower Cafe, it’s business as usual except customers can expect water and soda from bottles and cans instead of tap.
