Gates open for the 2019 NASCAR races in just a few days at Watkins Glen International.
Officials predict about 100,000 people to attend for the weekend.
On Tuesday, vendors and racers began to move in while the theme for the rest of the week will be setting up, cleaning up and preparing the grounds for another event-filled weekend at the Glen.
“Today a lot of the trucks came in and are getting washed up,” Chris Banker, Director of Public Relations at WGI, said. “They’re getting ready for the weekend.”
This year, fans will be able to get a new perspective of the track at the berm.
It’s an elevated surface to watch the races from turn 1.
Anyone with a general admission ticket can partake in a first come first serve basis. as the berm can fit up to about a couple hundred people at a time.
Gates open to campers on Wednesday morning at 7 a.m.
Officials said plenty of tickets are still on sale as ticket booths will remain open for the rest of the week for fans to get their experience booked up at the Glen.
