A drug raid on West Water Street in Elmira led to the arrest of two men and the seizure of cocaine, marijuana, and a large amount of currency.
On July 9, 2019, members of the New York State Police Troop E Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET), Troop”E” Uniform Force, NYSP K9, Elmira Police Department’s Uniform and Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office conducted a narcotics investigation at West Water Street in the city of Elmira, N.Y.
Investigators seized approximately 2.3 pounds of cocaine, approximately 15 grams of marihuana, $2,908.00 in US currency and a 2004 Lexus sedan.
Donell Alexander,34, of New York, N.Y. was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree (class A-1 felony) and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree (class A misdemeanor).
Shenell Boyd, 33, of Bronx, N.Y. was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree (class A-1 felony).
Alexander and Boyd were arraigned in the City of Elmira Court and remanded to the Chemung County Jail without bail.
The arrests stemmed from an investigation conducted by the New York State Police, the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office, Elmira Police Department, and the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office.
