One day after $200 million in state funding is made available to combat the heroin and opioid epidemic in New York, another $25 million is coming from the federal level.
The money is available from the Department of Health and Human Services “21st Century Cures Act.”
It will be used for prevention, treatment, and recovery of opioid addiction.
This announcement comes Thursday from New York Senators Schumer and Gillibrand.
This is the first of two rounds of funding under the federal legislation.
