The Chemung County Library District is launching their 4th annual “Makers Faire” and you might be surprised with what you’ll be able to create.
Airigami, a balloon sculpture company, is coming to the Arnot Mall to showcase their talents and teach you how to create your own masterpiece. On Friday, the group was setting up their display for Saturday’s event and was eager to share their works of art.
“The event tomorrow is just a celebration of people coming together and sharing their skills, their love of things they like to make,” Director of Chemung County Library District, Ronald Shaw said. “And, it’s an opportunity to pass it on to someone else.”
“Probably my favorite, and one of the things that is so great about a Maker Faire, is when we get the opportunity to work with everybody that happens to be there,” Creative Director of Airigami, Larry Moss said. “Everybody from kids to adults that go ‘wow, this is different. We never saw art made this way.’ And, we’ll put balloons in people’s hands and let them try things.”
Community members can interact with Airigami and enjoy the “Makers Faire” from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
