Cleanup Plan Outlined for Former NYSEG Site in Elmira

$3,050,000 dollars — that’s how much the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation estimates it will cost to clean and remedy a former NYSEG site in Elmira.

The DEC’s plan outlines several steps to treat the soil and remove equipment from the site at 500 East Water Street.

The plan also restricts the land to commercial use in the future and implements a plan to monitor groundwater in the area.
