A new train, manufactured in Elmira, is making its maiden voyage today.
Amtrak was taking delivery today of some new cars, built by CAF USA.
The new cars will be used between Boston and Washington D.C., on the Northeast Regional Line.
In 2010, Amtrak awarded CAF $298 million for the production of 130 cars for its long distance services.
The order includes 25 sleepers, 25 dining cars, 55 baggage cars and 25 bedroom cars.
