Need to get rid of documents? Steuben County to offer free shredding services

The Steuben County Public Works Department will host a free Shredding Day event on Saturday, April 20 from 8:00 a.m. to noon.

The service is free for residents who have sensitive documents and other kinds of documents that need to be destroyed.

Shredding will take place at the Erwin Transfer Station located at 622 South Hamilton Street in Painted Post.

There will also be other free shredding days after on the following and at the following locations:

  • May 4- Bath Landfill, 5632 Turnpike Road, bath
  • June 2- Wayland Transfer Station, 2078 Dieter Road, Wayland
  • July 27- Hornell Transfer Station, 6360 East Avenue Ext., Hornell

Shredding times for these locations and dates are also 8 a.m. until noon.
