A Steuben County woman has been charged with fraud after receiving benefits she was not eligible for, according to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office
Ashley R. Houston, 28, of Hornell failed to notify the Department of Social Services about an update in a case she was involved with. In addition, Houston is alleged to have provided the Department of Social Services written instruments which she knew contained false information.
Houston was charged with two counts of Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the first degree, one count of Grand Larceny in the fourth degree, all class E felonies, and one count of Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor.
Houston was released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Village of Bath Court at a later date.
