Waste collection event gives Chemung County residents chance to dispose of hazardous materials

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chemung County will be holding it’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection event. 

The event is free and gives Chemung County residents an opportunity to safely dispose their hazardous waste materials. That includes ammonia, antifreeze, batteries, drain cleaners, among other items.

Items such as motor oil, electronics and latex paint will not be accepted.

The event is Saturday, May 12, but pre-registration is required. The deadline is this Thursday at 4 p.m.
