The sounds of chainsaws cutting through ice and wood filled the streets of downtown Wellsboro today as the second day of the Wellsboro Winter Festival took place.
Activities and demonstrations stretched up and down Main Street, from speed ice sculpting competitions to a chili cook off to wood carving demonstrations. In Wellsboro Park, children had the opportunity to practice cross country skiing, and the doldrums of winter were shelved for the day for residents of Tioga County.
Sunday marks the final day of the festival, which culminates in the Mt. Tom Challenge, where participents climb 1100 vertical feet in order to summit the mountain.
