VAN ETTEN, N.Y. (WETM) - 4 year-old Abby Webster from Van Etten is home from the hospital, recovering from surgery.
According to the Friends of Abby Webster Facebook page, Abby is home with her family after spending several days at Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital in Syracuse.
Abby was taken to the hospital earlier in the week for a skin infection in her leg. She received surgery on Friday to clean out the infection from her bone.
Abby suffered a traumatic injury in the summer of 2018, losing parts of both her legs in a lawn mower accident. After spending over a month in the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and undergoing several surgeries, she was able to return home in September, and has been steadily recovering since then. She recently got new prosthetic legs and has been learning to walk with them.
Abby has a proven track record for toughness, and it seems as though this setback has not dampened her spirits. All of us at 18 News wish her the best.
