PREBLE, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - Cal Harris, the Owego man acquitted in the killing of his wife, Michele, after a fourth trial back in May, 2016, was arrested on Friday night for misdemeanor DWI.
Harris' arrest stems from a call to investigate a hit and run property damage accident that occurred on Inerstate 81 Southbound in the Town of Preble.
A Cortland County 911 caller reported that a GMC Sierra pick-up truck had side swiped their vehicle while both vehicles were traveling South. Staying in contact with Cortland County 911, the caller reported that the GMC Sierra had continued southbound and had since exited at Exit 12.
The truck was pulled over, and after further investigation, it was determined that Harris had a BAC of .13 percent. He was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and other traffic violations.
He was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Preble Court on January 9, 2018.
