HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - The third suspect wanted in connection to a home invasion in the Town of Horseheads has been caught and is behind bars Friday.
19 year-old Drew Stansfield was taken into custody without incident Thursday, according to a tweet from @SheriffMoss. Stansfield was charged with Robbery in the 1st degree and was sent to the Chemung County Jail.
Stansfield, along with 17 year-old Zhamere Charriez, and 18 year-old Daiquan Bythwood are accused of busting into 224 Overlook Drive just after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. The three were allegedly armed with a loaded rifle and demanded money from the two people inside that home, according to authorities.
Bythwood was shot after a fight with one of the victims. He underwent emergency surgery at a local hospital and remains in critical condition, according to authorities. Charriez was located by the Elmira City Police Department overnight Wednesday and turned over to the sheriff's office. Stansfield was the only suspect not caught at the time. He has since been apprehended. No details yet on where he was found.
The victims have not been identified at this time as the investigation continues.
