Chemung County Legislature sees record number of candidates

ELMIRA, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - On September 13th, voters will head to the polls for a number of state and local primaries. However, one local county is seeing races like never before. 

A total of 33 candidates are fighting for seats in the Chemung County Legislature.

Nine of the 15 districts in Chemung County are seeing contested races to get on the ballot for the November 6th election. 

Here is the list of candidates seeking seats in the Chemung County Legislature:

 

Democratic Candidates:

County Executive: Jerome Emanuel 

1st Dist. Legislator: Anthony Pucci 

3rd Dist. Legislator: Deb Lynch 

4th Dist. Legislator: Ed Bond 

5th Dist. Legislator: AJ Stow 

7th Dist. Legislator: Christina Bruner-Sonsire 

8th Dist. Legislator: Christopher Callas

11th Dist. Legislator: Bob Briggs

12th Dist. Legislator: Peter Keenan and Bill McCarthy

13th Dist. Legislator: Tanisha Logan-Lattimore and Claude Oliver

14th Dist. Legislator: Christa Heyward
