SOUTHPORT, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - Members of the community came out to Southport Fire Department for a chicken dinner barbeque.
The fire department held the dinner in support of one of their own. Christopher Baldwin has served at the fire department for more than a decade.
At the end of last year, he began treating a reoccurring tongue sore that later turned out to be oral cancer.
The cost of treatment in addition to the constant traveling, has taken a toll on Baldwin. But, the community support has helped ease that burden.
