City of Corning moving forward with ice rink renovations

CORNING, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - Major renovations are coming to the Civic Center ice rink in Corning.

On Monday night, Corning City Council voted to move forward with the renovation project worth over $1.1 million.

The project will replace the ice rink floor and its cooling system.

Work is set to begin between the next 30 to 60 days and is slated to be finished in time for the following hockey season.

City Manager Mark Ryckman tells 18 News that the renovation project will not effect any pre-scheduled summer programs.
