CORNING, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - Students walked out at Corning-Painted Post High School, to commemorate the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School shooting victims and protest gun violence.
Video sent in to us shows students walking together, chanting slogans and carrying posters as they made their way to the school's stadium.
In a statement the Corning-Painted Post Area School District said the decision for students protesting was up to the students and their families .
It added that students would be reprimanded if they violated the schools code of conduct by not maintaining a "safe, supportive and orderly school environment."
