BIG FLATS, N.Y. (WETM) - The Cottage Shop in Big Flats will be closing its doors after thirty plus years of business.
Owner Tom Gorman tells 18 News that the retirement is something that he and his wife are prepared to do.
While he has enjoyed the ride as a business owner, he felt this is the right time to explore other options in life.
"We're having a retirement sale right now. Everything is fifty percent off. I'm turning sixty this year, I want to slow down a bit, enjoy life and that's what this is all about," said Tom Gorman.
Gorman said since the announcement of his retirement on Facebook just last Friday, the shop has benefited from eight-thousand dollars worth of business. He's looking forward to his retirement and spending more time with family.
