ELMIRA, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - Elmira Fire Fighters IAFF Local 709 is accepting donations to support Corning City Firefighter Christopher Willis, his mother, and his girlfriend following a serious automobile accident on Sunday, Nov. 25.
All three were flown to Syracuse Upstate Hospital when 27-year-old Andrew Sampson of Horseheads, N.Y. struck their vehicle while driving intoxicated in Newfield, N.Y.
Sampson has been charged with felony Vehicular Assault in the first degree, misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated, and violation of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
The donations will be used for medical bills, lodging, and travel expenses.
