ELMIRA, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - An Elmira man has been convicted of attempted murder in connection to a 2016 shooting after a trial in Chemung County Court.
Kimani Meadows was originally indicted for a shooting back on December 20, 2016. It was alleged that Meadows arrived at the home of the victim, on John Street, and engaged in a verbal argument.
Meadows then took out a revolver and shot the victim in the abdomen, as well as the head.
The victim was taken to Guthrie Medical Center in critical condition, and was hospitalized for two months,but survived his injuries.
Along with his attempted murder conviction, Meadows was also convicted of assault in the first degree, criminal use of a firearm in the first degree, and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, all felonies.
He will be sentenced at a later date.
