BIG FLATS, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - The family of a popular mailman in Chemung County is in mourning after his sudden death.
60-year-old Timothy Webster died in a home invasion in Big Flats early Friday morning.
Thomas Webster is still in shock after the tragic death of his younger brother, Timothy.
"I can't believe it happened, it's a sad, sad thing, saddest thing in my life and I'm really going to miss him," he said.
Webster tells 18 News his brother was "a caring person, a loving person, he's just a great man, he loved anyone, he would do anything for you and he loved his wife with all his heart, he worked hard, he was a mailman but he played harder."
Webster says Timothy was a popular mailman in Elmira and loved spending time on his boat at Waneta Lake.
"He had a smaller boat but he always liked the more the merrier, the more people so he just upgraded to a pontoon boat so he can have more people on," Webster said.
Now, he'll never get to ride his boat again.
Timothy died inside his Big Flats home early Friday morning when authorities say 32-year-old Curtis Burrows of Mansfield shot him.
"My brother, he never had a chance, it happened so fast and I just feel something like this, this guy still breathing, having three meals a day, gets to have his visitors and my brother's gone."
Police say Burrows forced his way inside the home after attempting to kidnap a woman and going on a carjacking spree that started in Corning Thursday night. Police don't yet have a motive.
Webster says he'll always remember Timothy being so kind and calls him the best brother ever.
"I love my brother so much, rest in peace Timmy."
Timothy Webster leaves behind his wife, 10 children and 21 grandchildren.
Burrows remains in custody in Pennsylvania, pending extradition.
