A cold front moves through the region Tuesday night. As the cold front passes, this allows rain showers to mix with and turn to snow showers late as temperatures drop to near 30 degrees for overnight lows. Total snowfall staying under an inch through the overnight. Leftover rainfall may cause slick spots on untreated surfaces.

Northwest winds 10-25 mph continue Wednesday. Northwest winds set us up for lake-effect snow showers during the day and overnight. An additional 1-2" of snowfall possible between Wednesday morning and overnight. Highest amounts of snowfall in Steuben and Schuyler counties. Winds also ushering in the colder air. Highs Wednesday in the low to mid 30s, and temperatures drop to near 20 degrees for overnight lows.

Staying with a lake-effect pattern for Thursday with windy conditions. Temperatures below average for the end of the work week with highs Thursday and Friday only in the 20s. Wind speeds decreasing by Friday, and flurries still possible. Chance for snow continues for the weekend.
