A Winter Storm Warning in effect for Tioga (Pa), Potter, and McKean counties from Thursday morning through Friday morning. A Winter Storm Watch in effect for Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga (NY), Yates, and Bradford counties from Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon.

Cloudy for Wednesday night ahead of the next weather-maker. Flurries possible, and lows in the mid to upper teens.

Low pressure moving up the coast brings our next round of precipitation Thursday. Temperatures profiles play a big role in how much and which type of precipitation we see. The bulk of the precipitation staying mainly as snow, but a wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain also possible in lower elevations. Snow continues for the overnight, and heavy at times. Highs Thursday in the low 30s, and lows in the mid to upper 20s. Steady snow continues into early Friday before tapering to showers for the afternoon and overnight. Total snowfall of 6-8 inches on average for the Twin Tiers, and a light coating of ice also possible. Highs Friday near 40 degrees, and lows near 30 degrees.

Staying colder than average for the weekend with highs only near 40 degrees. Chance for flurries to sprinkles both Saturday and Sunday.
