ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) -
AVERAGE HIGH FOR JANUARY 12TH: 33°
AVERAGE LOW FOR JANUARY 12TH: 15°
SUNDAY SUNRISE: 7:34 AM
SUNDAY SUNSET: 4:58 PM
Mostly cloudy conditions continue this evening and into tonight with below average temperatures once again. We should stay mainly dry tonight with the slight chance for flurries in the northern tier late tonight. This is all associated with a low pressure system well to our south, impacting parts of the southern Pennsylvania and Virginia. No accumulation expected. Lows tonight in the upper single digits to low teens. We will be waking up with mostly cloudy skies as cold conditions continue into the end of your weekend.
Sunday we see decreasing clouds into the afternoon but remain cold with high temperatures in the mid to upper 20s. Wind should remain light out of the north east 0-5 mph as high pressure builds into the area Sunday evening and into Monday. Clear skies and calm winds will allow any heat trapped towards the surface to escape into the atmosphere, which means low temperatures Sunday night in the single digits - so dress warmly!
We then see sunshine continue into Monday and Tuesday with temperatures back near average int he low to mid 30s.
