Gunshots rattle Elmira neighborhood during the early morning hours on Saturday

ELMIRA, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - Elmira Police say they found a car and home with bullet holes after responding to calls of gunfire.

The incident happened at around 12:35 Saturday morning by the intersection of Mount Zoar Street and West Avenue. 

Witnesses told police of seeing people fleeing from a car before and after the shots were fired.

The vehicle and a home were found to have bullet holes during the search. Police say there are no reported injuries and do not have any suspects at this time.

Police add a loaded gun was found inside the fenced portion of a local bar. They say they do not believe the gun was used in the shooting. That gun was previously reported stolen to New York State Police in Horseheads.
