NEW YORK (WSYR-TV) - Joyce Mitchell, the woman who helped Richard Matt and David Sweat escape from Clinton Correctional Facility in June 2015, was denied parole for the second time on Friday.
The Plattsburgh Press Republican reported on Sunday Mitchell’s next parole hearing will be held in June 2019.
In September 2015, Mitchell plead guilty to first-degree promoting prison contraband, and fourth-degree criminal facilitation.
She was sentenced to 2 ⅓ - 7 years in prison.
Mitchell originally faced the parole board in February of 2017 and was denied then as well.
According to the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision's website, Mitchell's conditional release date is February of 2020.
