CORNING, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - If you're a junior or senior in high school, you could get four free semesters at Corning Community College. It's thanks to the Presidential Scholars Award.
The award recognizes the top 10 percent of students in their graduating high school class.
This year, 42 students will be receiving this award.
"It means we bring our best and brightest from the local region on campus," Dr. Kate Douglass, President of Corning Community College, said. "If there's one thing I hear from our tremendous faculty here at Corning Community College, it is that they love presidential scholars in their classroom."
The scholarship is only open to students in Chemung, Schuyler and Steuben counties.
Dr. Douglas said the most recipients come from Elmira High School.
