(NBC NEWS) - Mitsubishi Motors is recalling more than 161,000 vehicles in the U.S. and Canada.
The automaker says electric relays can cause the engine to stall or overheat or reduce power to the engine.
The recall affects the Outlander SUV, the Lancer Sedan and the Outlander Sport from model years 2015 to 2017, as well as the 2015 Lancer Evolution Sport Sedan.
Mitsubishi says there are no reports of accidents or injuries related to the defect.
Dealers will replace defective relays for free.
