ELMIRA HEIGHTS, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - There are new details regarding the missing Elmira Heights teen found last month.
Last Saturday, Elmira Heights Police said they arrested Kathy Scheffert, age 57, of Elmira Heights.
Police also said the 14-year-old girl had run away from home and went to Scheffert's home.
Scheffert took the girl to a motel in Corning for two days, then to a house in Elmira Heights to stay. She did this while while knowing that police were looking for the girl, EHPD said.
Scheffert was charged with custodial interference and unlawful imprisonment. She was processed and sent to the Chemung County Jail on $1,000 bail.
