NICHOLS, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - Many communities across our region are gearing up to celebrate Labor Day. That includes the Village of Nichols.
The village will hold its 107th annual Old Home Day festival at Kirby Park.
Volunteers spent the weekend cleaning up mud left over by high flood waters from the recent heavy rains.
Village Mayor Lesley Pelotte said the park looks 100 percent better than it did last week.
"This is the community coming together," Mayor Pelotte said. "That's the theme of this year's parade and that's what I want them to see, the community coming together, putting this on for folks."
The parade starts at 10 a.m. at the intersection of West River Road and Bliven Street.
The Festival at Kirby Park starts at 11 a.m. and will go on until 4 p.m.
