Police searching for driver after he leaves passenger in burning vehicle

TOWANDA, P.a. (18 News) - The Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda are searching for a man after he left his passenger in a burning vehicle.

Police responded to a singular car crash on Monday night, on Grandma Hill Rd. in Bradford County.

Police identified the driver as 24-year-old Ryan Allis, from Towanda. They say Allis failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The car then went off roadway, went down an embankment, overturned, and caught on fire, all after hitting a tree head on.

Haylee Bastion, 24, from Laceyville, was identified as the passenger in the vehicle. Police say Allis left the scene of the crash on foot, and left Bastion in the burning vehicle.

Bastion was extricated from the car by fire personnel and was transported to Towanda Memorial Hospital. The severity of her injuries is still unknown.

Police are still looking for Allis. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda.
