Police standoff in Elkland

Near the area of E. Main St & Addison Road

ELKLAND, Pa. (18 NEWS) - UPDATE: August 8, 2018, 7:11 p.m.

New details and charges after a man threatened two women and confronted police in Elkland for several hours.

Pennsylvania State Police tells us 25-year-old James Johnson is now facing charges for making terrorist threats, assault and endangering the lives of his victims. The victims were 19 and 51.

Johnson was arrested Friday afternoon and is now in the Tioga County Prison.

Police searched the home and found a handgun and meth-making items.


UPDATE:: A man is now police custody, following an alleged standoff in Elkland, Pa. 

At approximately 9:45 this morning Elkland Police responded to 605 East Main Street in Elkland, where a man reportedly got into a dispute with his girlfriend and reportedly brandished a weapon. He was picked at around 3 p.m. on Buffalo Street in Elkand and is now in State Police custody. 


18 News has learned of a standoff in Elkland Borough.  The standoff is near the intersection of E. Main St. and Addison Rd.  This is a developing story.
