UPDATE: Police standoff on Elmira's Southside

ELMIRA, N.Y. (18 News) - UPDATE:: Elmira Police Department responded to the area of Maple Ave. and Horner St. after a report of a disturbance. 

Officers received information that two males were armed, one with a firearm, the other, a baseball bat. 

Officers were told that the subject with the firearm ran inside the residence at that intersection, and the other male ran away. A perimeter was then set up around the home. When officers cleared the house, nobody was found inside. 

Officers were able to learn the identity of the two suspects. It was alleged they had robbed a female of money. That female would not cooperate with officers. 

Both suspects were later found in the area and were in possession of pellet style guns. 

No charges have been filed.

Police are seen in pictures sent in by viewers, with drawn guns, as they appear to enter the home.

It is still unknown why police were surrounding the home, and whether any arrest has been made.
