CORNING, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - Nothing marks the holidays like a homemade gingerbread house all decked out for the season.
The Rockwell Museum held their 4th annual Gingerbread Invitational Friday evening. A mix of 6 local schools and business put their own original spin on gingerbread house.
A panel of 3 judges awarded prizes to the top 3 finishers based off originality, imagination and the structural integrity of the gingerbread house.
"What's really amazing about this, is that this is the fourth year, we've done it. The creativity that comes out every year,and you know the new people that come to participate, I'm just blown away every year. The community support around growing this tradition has been really inspiring." said Willa Rose Vogel.
The houses will be on display through the rest of December. You can and vote for your favorite house. The museum will announce the Community Choice Award winner at the end of the month.
Holiday open house, so it free and open to the public of all ages on December 1st and 2nd.
The fun doesn't stop there. On December 17, they will show the "Polar Express". Plus the new Rockwell Kids Art Lab on Market Street is up and running. It's a great place for families to spend the holidays.
