Schuyler County Sheriff's Office hosts active shooter response training

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - In light of recent shootings across the country, the Schuyler County Sheriff's Office held an active shooter response training session.

The Schuyler County Sheriff's Office welcomed residents to the Watkins Glen Performing Arts Center for a C.R.A.S.E. class. The class was designed to educate residents on the severity of active shooter situations and provide advice for how to react.

"We wanted to make the public aware of active shooter situations and give them ideas to prepare themselves in case they are ever involved in an active shooter situation," Schuyler County Sheriff's Deputy, Lt. Todd Day said. "It doesn't matter if it's at a school, or Walmart, or a music event, they have to prepare themselves beforehand."

For more information on the training including additional classes, contact the Schuyler County Sheriff's Office.
