HAMMONDSPORT, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - Frigid water couldn't stop more than a dozen people who jumped into Keuka Lake in Hammondsport Saturday, all for a good cause.
It was the annual polar plunge at the Switzerland Inn to raise money in support of a three-year-old Penn Yan girl Kira Christensen.
Christensen was diagnosed with cancer.
The jumpers hurled themselves off the docks into Keuka's chilly waters.
The water was a frigid 38-degrees.
Those who signed up made pledges to raise money.
A portion of the proceeds were split between the Wayne Volunteer Fire Department but they've decided to donate all that money to Christensen.
