ELMIRA, N.Y. (18 News) - A 19-year-old from Elmira suffered a gunshot wound to the head, around 1:30 am on Monday morning.
Tyir D. Dorsey's gunshot wound appears to be non life-threatening, according to the Chemung County Sheriff's Office.
Dorsey was transported to the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA for treatment, where he remains in stable condition.
Police were dispatched to the area of 456 Albert Street in the City of Elmira. According to the victim the incident took place in the Town of Southport near the City line.
Investigators believe the shooting incident occurred at a separate unknown location and that Dorsey responded to the Albert Street address for assistance. The victim was uncooperative with investigators pertaining to information on where and how he suffered the gunshot wound.
