Vice President Mike Pence visits Katko campaign fundraiser in Syracuse, stops at Auburn business

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Vice President Mike Pence and his his wife, the Second Lady of the United States, Karen Pence, have arrived in Central New York. 

The couple landed in Syracuse on Tuesday for a fundraiser for Republican Congressman John Katko.

Air Force Two landed at the military side of Hancock International Airport at 11:35 a.m., according to the White House.

Protestors lined Solar Street as Pence made his way to the campaign fundraiser at the Embassy Suites near Destiny USA.

After the fundraiser, Pence headed to Auburn to tour Nucor Steel. Mrs. Pence arrived at Golisano Children's Hospital at 2:20 p.m. to observe an art therapy session and deliver coloring books to patients.

The custom coloring books feature the second family's pet dog and cat.

While the schedule doesn't specify a departure time for the Pence's, Air Force Two is scheduled to land in Philadelphia at 4:45 p.m.

No events open to the public have been announced by the White House.
