WAVERLY, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - A 37-year-old Waverly man will be spending the next 10 years in State Prison after pleading guilty to attempted rape in the first degree, a class C felony.
It was alleged that Wayne Wood attempted to engage in sexual intercourse with another person by force on Broad Street, in Waverly, on May 3, 2017.
Wood entered the plea of guilty on the second day of his jury trial.
In addition to the 10-year sentence, Wood will also serve 10 years of post-release supervision.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on June 11.
